Casio Men's PAW2000-1CR Pathfinder Digital Multi-Function Resin Band Watch

It has been a while now since I last wore a watch because for time I now use my cell phone. After I got a new watch recently I realized that I missed having one wrapped around my wrist. Before I stopped wearing a watch I was using a Casio G Shock which is of less quality compared to the Casio Men`s PAW2000-1CR Pathfinder Digital Multi-Function Resin Band Watch. The G Shock had a thicker feel to it, and my long sleeved shirts always caught it and this is not the case with the Pathfinder.

One of the great things are like about the Pathfinder is that it has a larger dial which makes it easier for my aging eyesight. In addition, what I have noted as a unique feature is the accuracy of the atomic clock as well as no battery to replace. The main reason that attracted me to this Pathfinder was sunrise/sunset feature and that it is able to round off to the nearest five minutes. Since I am the kind who wakes up early to prepare for my routine cycling and running, the Pathfinder does come in handy.

But then again with every good thing, one should expect some flaws, which can be either great or small. The Pathfinder`s barometer works perfectly however the altimeter does not deliver as I hope it would. The culprit to this issue is the adjustment needed when the barometric pressure alters which affects the altimeter`s accuracy. This I noticed first hand when I set the watch for 80 feet at my home elevation of 75` but with some weather changes over night the next morning it was showing a reading of -40 feet. However, I think the Pathfinder can be put to good use when hiking where it is possible for you to set it to a accurate altitude.

The Pathfinder comes with a compass as well of which I tried messing with it but I decided not to set the declination for my current location. For the current moment, I think it will do just fine for everyday use. When looking at accurate temperature reading the Pathfinder does not do so well because it gives out readings of one`s wrist temperature. Therefore, if I need an accurate temperature reading I have to remove and let it cool down and record the appropriate temperature readings. The Pathfinder`s alarm is on the quiet side but it works without any problems. The light on the back is a great feature but it seems they could have made it brighter if they wanted to; maybe it is a battery saver measurement.

In conclusion, the Casio Men`s PAW2000-1CR Pathfinder Digital Multi-Function Resin Band Watch is one great watch and looking forward to many years with this watch.
