White "IT Pro" (New York) - all my reviews (REAL NAME) I have the HP d9740us to your local dealer. What initially attracted me to this laptop was the blu-ray drive and 17 "screen. Throw in the HDMI connection, and you have a winner. Read what is in the box, because you just about everything you need, including 2 remotes a TV tuner, antenna and cable. I do not know how Vista, but I am like that, as it seems that the drivers for this laptop might not easily accessible by HP for Windows XP. I am also not a fan of HP Quickplay, but it does. Caution newer Word Blu-ray discs may not play. I could not get to play Spiderman 3, but on all other CDs played very well. Connect my laptop this big-screen TV is a great experience. The quality of the blu-ray is amazing, and with the remote control makes it easy to use a laptop. The right side of the shift key is small, but with a full-size keyboard and numeric keyboard is very handy. The DVD touchpad is also good to have. If you have an earlier version of Quick Play you were able to play without booting that DVDs no longer possible. I do not understand how the placement of the power cord socket, as I believe it leads to problems when it comes to the side, rather than the back, in fact, there are no ports on the back side, everything on the sides. Built-speakers are ok not spectacular. All in all, you get a lot for your dollar, and I can recommend this laptop high.
